Three things that I think that I think I do well in academically is, I am a good at reading aloud in class, however I do not like to. I am a good typer, I type quickly and accurately. Last but not least I think that I am good a science stuff, i enjoy doing experiments and learning new things each and everyday! Three things that I think that I need to work on as a student would be my math skills, English and literature skills, and my study techniques. My goal for this year is to complete all of the classes that Calumet High school has offered me to the best of my ability. I hope to have a good GPA at the end of this school year. In this class my goal is to better my writing and comprehension skills and get a good grade. My favorite author is Marilyn Reynolds. She is the author of my favorite book. The book that I would consider my favorite would be Detour For Emmy. I think that this is my favorite book because it talks about real life, and how people make mistakes. I think that if all writers would write about real life choice and how they effect real life people then people, especially teens would think trough their decisions and really consider the outcome before they do things that could change their lives forever.

christmas truce

I think that Paul would not be mad about it but I do not think that he would agree with it either. I did not think that it was the same thing as the book that we read so I do not think it would make Paul mad but, then again he will never see it because he is not real and even if he was real he is not alive therefor he will never see it anyways.
I think that war is stupid. Adults always tell kids and teens that fighting doesn't solve anything so why are they going to war? War is fighting. I think that they just need to get off the baby stuff and talk about it like the adults that they are suppose to be.
The only way that my opinion has changed is the artical and the book has just made me even more against war. Even in the article people were stopping to be nice because of Christmas. This made no sence to me because these people have no real personal problems with each other they just want to fight because their leaders have told them to.
In the book, it made me realize that war is much worse then I thought it was. I hate war and I wish that people could just grow up and be adults.

In this class I want to read books that are are not dumb and pointless. I think that we should read silently to ourselves and not read out loud to the class. I find that when I read something by myself I understand it better and I don't half to worry about missing something and I can read at my own understanding level. I do not like when we just read the whole book and then take a test i think that we should take a test after like every couple chapters.

the lamb story thing

I think that in the story the guy that wrote it wanted us to think that the wife was not able to commit a crime like that. I think that the writer wanted to build up the suspense and make us think that she was just going to make dinner for her husband but then she just didn't and she hit him in the back of the head with a large piece of lamb. Then the writer just tried to make it look like she was going to get caught and then she didn't because she had all of the cops eat all the evidence that she could have possibly have had anything to do with it.

Lord of the Flies

Simon's place was a little "cabin" in the wood were nobody could find him. When he was there nobody could see him. It was closed in by leaves and creepers.

I do not have a secret place I just go to my room and hide from everyone and they all know that if I am in there then I do not want to be bothered and I am in a bad mood and just want to be left alone.

candy

No, I did not take the candy. I think it is very wrong for people to take things that do not belong to them. I have brothers and sisters who take things that are mine and it bugs the crap out of me and so I do it back to them so they know how I felt.

I think that the reason that good people do bad things is because other people think it is the cool thing to do and so they talk about it like it is the coolest thing in the world and try to tell people that it is not wrong or that it is the cool thing to do and that is why they do it. They do it because they think it will make them look more cool or make people like them better.

I had to deal with peer pressure just this past weekend, I went to hang out with my sister and all of our friends from the barn and they are all 21 or older except like 1 other person. They were all drinking and they offered me some and I had to say no because I didn't want it to get back to my dad but then when I got home my dad had asked me it I had any thing to drink with them because he knew that if I was staying at a hotel with a bunch of people and I was like 4 hours away that I would do something stupid and as it turns out he had called and asked my sister if there was any drinking and she said yes but I had chosen to stay with her instead of staying with every body who was drinking because she is pregnant and she would have told on me if I would have drank anything.

Mother Versus Daughter

I think that Jing-mei's mother is right to push her so that she wont half to be poor and so that she can be a prodigy like her cousin. Her mother came from China so that they could have a better life and it hurt he that Jing-mei did not want that for herself. I also think that Jing-mei was being cruel to her mother, because her mother was just trying to make her smart so that she could become something someday.
